5 years ago, the initial Spiderman trilogy starring Tobey McGuire finished. The ultimate instalment towards the trilogy wasn’t well accepted and reschedule key was turned. Jump 2012 and there exists a new Spiderman, a brand new villain and importantly a brand new title.
The Amazing Spider-Man tells the same story regarding why and how Spiderman evolves but produces a brand new characteristic about Peter Parkers (Andre Garfield) father.
When Peter finds an idea why his father missing throughout his childhood, he’s engaged himself to discover the truth. This puts him on a dangerous path towards Dr Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s partner.
Casting with this film is ideal. Andrew Garfield (Social Networking) plays both Peter Parker and the alter ego very well, He is able to accomplish the nerdy aspect together with the cocky and assured side well without them becoming far-fetched, He’s extremely credible as 17-year-old boy despite the fact that he’s twenty-eight.
Emma Stone (Easy A) is cast as Gwen Stacey. She also plays the teenage girl role well and has accomplished the confident, wise but emotional side to her character powerfully, Finally Rhys Ifans (The Boat That Rocked) plays arch villain. He’s credible in the role of the vulnerable Dr Connors and changes into his alter ego The Lizard perfectly.
The cast all come together nicely by Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May. The best areas of the film occur throughout Parkers transformation to Spiderman, They’re much better than the initial film as this adds a little humour towards the overall film. The spectacular New York sets are able to lift the film to the next level, most of the Spiderman scenes are shot during the night and there aren’t many skylines at night that can beat that scenery.
The only real issue with the film (and it is difficult to refer to it as an issue) is that it’s the same story as in the last films plus some audiences could see this new Spiderman as coming too soon following the original. Overall The Amazing Spider-Man is a superb remake of the old franchise and will also be ideal for next generation to look at and revel in.
If the opportunity comes up to see the film in IMAX 3D then certainly take that chance, The IMAX makes this film an excellent viewing experience, The film is well presented and looks great. This is the second super hero film launched this summer with much anticipation and additional instalment has already been due for release in 2014.
